 DARANAK FALLS

    

       Tanay’s most famous tourist spot is Daranak Falls, a 14-meter high refreshing cascade with a deep basin for swimming. The place is quite popular with locals and tourists, so expect a lot of people sightseeing, swimming and having picnics during the weekend. To maximize your visit, go on a weekday (except for summer, when the place really gets crowded). 




TINIPAK RIVER

            River flowing through mountainous terrain with rapids & a cave with a natural swimming pool. Consider this the cheapest trip I had so far, only spent 640Php for this bone breaking escapade.

Tinipak River at Mt.Daraitan will give you the magnificent feeling. The one hour trek will test your stamina with enormous effort going up and down toward giant trail of rocks but walking by the river with lush green trees and hearing the rippling sound of it will surely keep you going.

































 BATLAG RIVER



Further up from Daranak Falls is its sister upstream, Batlag Falls. Set in a dense forest, with nearby tables and cottages, this waterfall is set on a unique rock formation, with the water following its unpredictable contours. This departure from the conventional picture of a waterfall, coupled with its more serene setting, makes Batlag Falls a sight to behold. You can go even further up to the origin of Batlag Falls. Here the stream is clearer. Locals tell of waterfalls deeper in the mountains of Tanay and outlying towns.
